Van Puijenbroek Textiel celebrates 10-year membership of the Fair Wear Foundation

The FWF's objectivity and structural approach match our core values perfectly

12 MARCH 2014, GOIRLE, THE NETHERLANDS
Summary
This month, Van Puijenbroek Textiel is celebrating its 10-year membership of the Fair Wear Foundation (FWF). This event marks a decade of committed action on the part of the producer of work and safety clothing from Goirle, the Netherlands, to ensure good working conditions in the clothing industry. Director Rob Kwaspen looks back on the collaboration with the FWF with satisfaction. ‘We were one of the early adopters of a well-conceived system and are proud of what we have achieved at our production locations together with the FWF’.

The Fair Wear Foundation is an independent non-profit organisation that globally works to improve working conditions for workers in the clothing industry. In reflection of the importance that Van Puijenbroek Textiel attaches to sustainability and CSR, the company signed the FWF code of conduct in 2004. This code is based on eight labour standards such as no child labour at production sites and safe and healthy conditions for workers in clothing factories. The FWF annually verifies progress and the way in which its members have implemented the eight standards in their production value chain.

Kwaspen: ‘Our participation demonstrates that we are involved in the sustainable and responsible production of clothing, particularly industrial clothing. The FWF's objectivity and structural approach match our core values perfectly’. The FWF congratulates Van Puijenbroek Textiel on its 10-year membership. International Inspector Kees Gootjes: ‘Van Puijenbroek Textiel, a Dutch work and safety clothing manufacturer, was one of the first members of the Fair Wear Foundation. The company wholeheartedly advocates the importance of good working conditions in clothing factories. We look forward to continuing our collaboration far into the future’.
